The Reality of Life

By Guest Author

There was once a time where Islam was a way of life, nothing could stop the love of Islam that ran through their (Companions of the Prophet PBUH) veins.

Now the times are such that the heart does not tremble in fear of its Master. The soul is overtaken by the many tribulations that occur due the disobedience of the slave to its Lord. Shaytaan did not prostrate to Aadam (AS), but we do not prostrate to Allah! So who is worse off? Who will be laughing on the Day when many of us will be crying wishing we had but another chance to gain the pleasure of Allah.

The Satan will say when the matter will have been decided, “Allah promised you a truthful promise while I gave you a promise and did not fulfil it. I had no authority over you, except that I invited you and you accepted my call. So, do not blame me, but blame yourselves. Neither I can come to your help, nor can you come to my help. I disown your associating me with Allah in the past. Surely, there is a painful punishment for the unjust.” [14:22]

Never too late is the time for repentance. Do you not know that our Lord is the Most Merciful, the Most Caring, the Most Loving? Allah is Al ahad, the One. So turn your face in humility to Him who has given us everything.

"Seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn towards Him in repentance. Surely, my Lord is very merciful, most loving."  [11:90] Alhamdulillah hi rabil aalameen.

This life is but a test for the believer and a mere delusion for the disbeliever. "Do people think that they will be left (at ease) only on their saying, “We believe” and will not be put to any test?"  Indeed We have tested those who were before them. So Allah will surely know the ones who are truthful, and He will surely know the liars".[29:2-3]

Our tests are in accordance to the faith that resides in our heart. so now look at our small trials compared to our previous pious humble predecessors and our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering to practice Islam.

"Seek help through patience and prayer. It is indeed exacting, but not for those who are humble in their hearts, who bear in mind that they are to meet their Lord, and that to Him they are to return." [2:45-46]

O Allah, bestow on my soul its taqwa. Purify it, for you are the Best of those who can purify it. You alone are its Guardian and Master.  O Allah, forgive what I did earlier and what I did later; what I did secretly and what I did publicly; and whatever you know more than I. O Allah, provide me with Your love and the love of those whose love will benefit me with You. O Allah, whatever You provided to me of the things that I love, make them a source of strength for me in pursuing what You love. O Allah, and whatever You kept away from me of the things that I crave, make their absence free up time that I can devote to whatever You love. O Allah, make the last part of my life its best, my last deed my best one, and the day I meet You my best day. O protector of Islam and its followers, keep me firm on it until I meet You. I seek from You contentment and that of my family. O Allah we beg You for yearning hearts that are humble and that turn to Your path.

O Allah, praise belongs to You just as You say, and better that how we say it.

Ameen Ameen Ameen.
