By Shaikh Mufti Amjad Muhammad.

Masjid-E-Umer would like to invite you to an informative and educational lecture by Shaikh Mufti Amjad Muhammad this Saturday 29th April 2017, 6:30pm-8:30 pm.

The session will focus on what is currently the question played on the lips and minds of many Muslims and equally the Non-Muslims across the country and Europe – How does a Muslim continue to accept and live by his religious acts and belief system, whilst being a constructive citizen within a western, liberal and democratic society.

The session will be followed by light refreshments with an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications from Shaikh Amjad.

We sincerely hope you will be able to attend this event. This event is for Brothers and Sisters.

Raising Money for Bowel Cancer Treatment For Whipps Cross Hospital

The latest figures available show that the number of residents who died from bowel cancer in the borough doubled over a four-year period.

Numbers show that it is people aged between 60 and 80 living in the borough that are most likely to be affected by bowel cancer, with women slightly more likely to be affected than men.

It is for this reason Masjid e Umer is helping the Mayor of Waltham forest raise funds for our local hospital Whipps Cross in providing an excellent service that help many local residents who are affected by Bowel Cancer

Please donate generously as this will help the sick and elderly.

You can give your donation at the mosque after each Prayer or speak with a member of the mosque management.

**Urgent Appeal for drought in Somalia**

We may have all seen the terrible conditions of our fellow Human Beings in East Africa especially Somalia. Because of a severe drought many are losing their lives. There is a shortage of water and basic food.Masjid e Umer has teamed up with UWT to appeal to our community to help these calamity afflicted people.

With this in mind please remember the Hadith that encourages us to help our fellow brothers and sisters:

"O son of Adam, I asked you to quench my thirst and you did not give anything to drink. He will say: O Lord, how should I give You anything to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: My servant So-and-so asked you to quench his thirst but you refused to give him anything. Had you given him something to drink, you would have surely found that with Me." (Muslim)

Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter. And Allah will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother… (Muslim)

We appeal to ALL of you that please donate to this worthy cause through your Lillah/Sadaqah and Zakat.
