Sisters Meeting TOMORROW 14th December 2014

***Attention All sisters ***

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

A meeting has been organised tomorrow at Masjid-e-Umer for only sisters to voice their concerns to the police directly regarding the recent incidents in the Boundary Road area.

Sisters are requested to attend and let your concerns be heard, failure to do so can result in the police failing to protect the women in the community.

The main purpose of this meeting will be for SISTERS to get the assurance that the police are there to help and understand what can be reported if there is or will be an incident.

The meeting will إن شاء الله take place at 11:00am tomorrow (Sunday 14th December 2014) at the Masjid via the Chelmsford Road entrance.

Please can all sisters attend and invite others.

As a community we all need to play an important part understanding how to protect both women and children!

و عليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته

Meeting between the community, MP Stella Creasy and the Police

A very informative meeting took place after jumma between the community, MP Stella Creasy and the Police.

A lot can be said but the main points that I gained from the meeting is

-The police have assured us that following the recent incidents there will be more police presence and are doing all they can with the information presented to them. They will continue to work hard with the community to stop crime and keep everyone safe regardless of faith or nationality. We hope they stick to this by action and not word's.

The following are points that we as muslims need to take on board:

-Muslims have a responsibility to report when any crime takes place if you don't report the crime you can't expect the police to do anything. We can take the police to task if they are not doing their job but if no one reports the crime then they can use that as an excuse.

Muslims seem to be very vocal on social media but never seem to be as vocal in making their voice heard via the correct channels

Masjid e Umer Trust Condemn the Killings of innocent people by 'IS'

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

This is an open letter to the leadership of ISIS written by some of the most learned and respected Islamic Scholars and Imams of Great Britain. It urges the immediate release of Alan Henning and all other hostages in their captivity. This letter draws on the verses of the Holy Qur'aan and the Ahadith (Sayings/Actions) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to remind the ISIS leadership of the duties and obligations that fall upon all Muslims.

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

All praise is due to Allah the Most High. Peace and blessings of Allah be upon His beloved messenger Muhammad (PBUH).

We write this letter to you with these verses of the Holy Qur'aan in mind:

"And remind, for verily, the reminding benefits the believers." [51:55]

"Verily, Allah enjoins justice and kindness..." [16:91]

And this Hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"The Compassionate One has mercy on those who are merciful. If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in the heaven will show mercy to you". [Abu Dawood]
