**The solar eclipse Salah(Salat ul kusoof) will be held at Masjid e Umer insha Allah. Please come the Masjid From 8:35 and engage in Dua, Salah, recitation of the Holy Qur'aan.

The Eclipse Salah will commence as soon as the eclipse will become apparent.**

There will be a solar eclipse in the UK on Friday the 20th March 2015. In London Partial Eclipse begins at 08:25 am. Maximum Eclipse (84%) will be at 09:31. Eclipse ends at 10:41

As eclipses are rare occurrences, many people are generally unaware of the guidance given by the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi Wassalam) as regards to what to do and what the reality is behind them in light of the Holy Shariah. Below is a brief explanation in light of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi Wassalam) followed by Masaa’il that one may find useful.

Allah Almighty states in the Holy Qur’aan:

He is the One who has made the sun a glow, and the moon a light, and determined for it stages, so that you may learn the number of the years, and the calculation (of time). Allah has not created all this but for a rightful purpose. He elaborates the signs for a people who understand. [10:5]

In another verse Allah Almighty states:

Among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate yourselves to the sun, or to the moon. And prostrate yourselves to Allah who has created them, if it is Him whom you worship. [41:37]

When the sun eclipsed at the time of the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi Wassalam) he went out rushing nervously to the mosque, dragging his cloak behind him, and led the people in prayer. He told them that the eclipse was one of the signs of Allah, with which Allah makes His slaves afraid, and that it may be the cause of punishment coming upon the people. He commanded them to do that which could prevent the punishment, so he commanded them to pray when an eclipse happens, and to make dua’, seek His forgiveness, give charity, free slaves and do other righteous deeds so that the punishment would go away and not befall the people. So the eclipse is a reminder to people, making them afraid so that they will turn back to Allah and pay attention to Him.

Alhumdulillah, (All praise to God) we finished delivering your fantastic donation to the community's food banks. The food was delivered to Ruksana Khan Foundation as well as Eat or Heat. It is at these times we need try to make a habit of regularly donating to these places even if it is once every few months on an individual basis.

These are small and easy deeds that our Beloved Messenger (sallalahu alayhi wasallam) taught us.

Imam al-Tirmidhi reported that the Prophet said:

"O people! Spread the greeting of peace, feed (the poor and needy), behave kindly to your relatives, offer prayer when others are asleep, and (thus) enter Paradise in peace."

Where can we find better advice that this? In these times, when there is so much hatred, we need to spread such teachings and show all the beautiful character of the Beloved Messenger (sallahu alayhi waslam).

We would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE that helped, be it by donating, leafleting or delivering food. We pray that Allah blesses you ALL and most importantly may Allah accept this small action of kindness to people less fortunate than us.  May allah be pleased with us each time someone benefits from the food donated.

Also a huge thanks to the foodbanks themselves for accepting our donation and for the work they do all year round.

Here are some pictures of the donations.
