About this Event
We will cycle from Leyton Jubilee Park using quiet roads and cycle crossings to reach the Coppermill Lane entrance for the Walthamstow Wetlands. We will cycle through the Wetlands up to the Engine House cafe. There will be an option for those who want to do a longer route to continue through the other side of the Wetlands via Stonebridge Lock to return to the Engine House cafe where we will all congregate for some refreshments before returning back to Jubilee Park.
The two route options are 6 miles and 10 miles and you can decide on the day which route you would like to do. Those who do the shorter route will wait at the Engine House cafe for the others to return.
There will be separate sisters and brothers groups and children are welcome to cycle with either group. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The ride is suitable for all the family (child seats, trailers and young riders welcome!) however the ability to balance, pedal, turn corners and brake safely is a basic requirement for all riders.
The ride will be led by experienced ride leaders who will manage junctions, keep the group together and provide support.
There are a limited number of adult and child bikes available to borrow or you can bring your own road-worthy bike.
You will need to bring:
helmet (if want to wear one)
water and snacks
money for cafe if you'd like to buy anything
lock and spare inner tubes (if on own bike)
Surrounding roads are permit-free on Sundays.
Riders participate in the ride at their own risk and accept that their safety is a matter of personal responsibility.
This ride is organised by FECycle, a project of Fatimah Elizabeth Cates Academy.

With this in mind please remember the Hadith that encourages us to help our fellow brothers and sisters:
"O son of Adam, I asked you to quench my thirst and you did not give anything to drink. He will say: O Lord, how should I give You anything to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: My servant So-and-so asked you to quench his thirst but you refused to give him anything. Had you given him something to drink, you would have surely found that with Me." (Muslim)
Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter. And Allah will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother… (Muslim)
PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES FROM MUTILATION AFTER DEATH BY SIGNING THE PROPOSAL FOR THE PROVISION OF CT SCANNER AT WALTHAMSTOW PUBLIC MORTUARY
islam21c.com/…/protect-yourself-from-mutilation-after-death/
Think of your own parents. Your children. What are we waiting for? Do we await our own deaths before we wish something had been done to save us from torture? Let it be you and I who moved, today, so that our deceased were preserved and respected. So that they were protected, upon their return to Allāh.
Please support the petition below (less than 1 minute to complete) and share with all your family and friends. Deadline is this Friday 21st September at 23:45.

Islam teaches utmost respect for the dead. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade us from mutilating dead bodies. He (peace be upon him) said that breaking the bones of a dead person is like breaking them when he is alive. Muslims cannot even cut the nails or hair of the deceased. For this reason cutting the flesh and sewing it up again without reason (when other procedures are available) is NOT allowed. the pain for the deceased as well as the family cannot be put into words
However we have some GOOD NEWS!!!!
Walthamstow Forest are seeking consultation regarding the proposed installation of a Digital Autopsy suite at the Queens Road Mortuary.
The aim is to provide an on site non-invasive post mortem autopsy for residents of the borough and greater surrounding areas.
A digital autopsy is an advanced process that utilises software and a digital scan of the deceased to allow a precise, timeley , low risk examination to be conducted which in the vast majority of cases WILL NOT require any physical autopsy.
Mortuary Service Operations Manager is currently preparing a business case to support a feasibility report and would greatly appreciate any feedback you have on the proposal.
More information on the digital autopsy process can be found on : www.digitalautopsy.co.uk
We have been campaigning for a number of years for such a service and we now have an opportunity to do something about it. We need you to show your support and email/write to the coroner expressing our support and need for the Digital Autopsy suite in Waltham forest and as a resident fully endorse it.
